This week on The Offbeat Life podcast, we talked to Ken Faeldonia who shared how he has been able to help others, travel, and make money as a travel nurse. Listen Below!
Here are the 5 tips Ken Faeldonia recommends to become a successful travel nurse:
1. Get the right experience.
Have at least 1-2 years of experience as a nurse in order to prepare yourself. Remember: more experience =more $$!
2. Do your research.
Understand the ins and outs of what it takes to be a travel nurse. One helpful resource to go to is The Gypsy Nurse. Listen to the episode to find more useful resources.
3. Be willing to work in offbeat locations.
Be prepared to work in areas that may not be your first choice.
4. Learn how to quickly adopt to different situations.
You will not only be placed in a variety of locations, but also situations that you have to adopt to on the fly. Be flexible and open to change.
5. Make friends wherever you go to lessen the loneliness.
Being a travel nurse is great, but it can get lonely when you are off to new destinations every few months. Push yourself to make friends to lessen the loneliness you may feel from time to time.
